Day 5 already? Wow
Did everybody survive Black Friday shopping madness? Did we lose someone along the way? LOL
Today’s card features the three wise men (which is one of my mom’s favorite themes during the holidays) riding in golden camels across a starry night. I’ve made two versions for my Zazzle store: one just like it’s pictured here and one where you can customize the greeting on the front of the card. The default is Feliz Navidad (Merry Christmas).
Almost didn’t make it! LOL
The holiday shopping season has begun with Black Friday and even though I wasn’t standing in line somewhere at 4AM, I did go Christmas shopping today. Almost have everyone on the list crossed out! One last trip to my local Wal-mart and I’ll be done! I’ve never been done with my Christmas shopping so early! ^_^
Here is today’s card: golden bells and warm Season Greetings. As usual it can be bought through my Zazzle store.
Candy canes is the theme of the day. Lovely red and white candy canes with colorful stripes and dots. Available in my Zazzle store with a personalized message option.
Today I created a simple, classical card with cool blue and green colors. When I made this card I knew I wanted to make it available as a Zazzle template, so I made the center of the ornament transparent. People looking for photo cards can replace the place holder image with one of their own. (That’s my beautiful cat, Emily, featured in this preview).
In an effort to stay active designing and to gain a lot of practice using Photoshop (you learn a new technique everyday) I have decided to start a new personal challenge: 30 Days of Designs.
First Round: Greeting Cards
So, let’s jump right in. Here is the first design: a holiday greeting card featuring a red reindeer in a festive background. Design was created using All Silhouettes Vector Animals set. As usual, design can be purchased through my Zazzle store. I’ve created a variety of products using it, including a stamp. ^_^
That’s where I’ll be for the next couple of days!
Why, you ask? I’ll be in town for the 99th Annual NCTE Convention!
I was lucky enough to go last year when they held it at San Antonio, TX. My close friend, Prisca from the Once Upon A Book blog did a presentation and I went for some moral support. But you know what? I had a lot of fun too! Got lots of books (some free, some I paid for), I got to see lots of different presentations, learned a lot about what is going on in the world of teaching and I even got to see some famous writers! (Hey, I got some autographed copies of my favorite The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell). I’m really looking forward to this year’s convention. Not only will I get to see Philadelphia, but I’m sure I’ll get lots of wonderful books and meet lots of wonderful people. ^_^
Someday I hope to attend a Graphic Design convention. I’m sure they are just as fun as the English teachers meeting.
On a related note: I won’t be online from Thursday to Sunday (I’ll be too busy collecting stuff and catching the sites at Philadelphia), but I do have Internet access on my cell phone now. So I’ll be checking my e-mail and Twitter accounts occasionally during my mini-vacation.
After a few minutes of scratching my head and trying to figure out the Zazzle template instructions, I have created a photo greeting card using my snowman design. This new version allows you to place any photo into the image placeholder and personalize the card! You can also edit the inside text with whatever message you wish to send your friends and family.
I made two versions: one green and one brown.
Challenge for writers, by Bonet Graphic Designs
The holidays are here! Yay! Choose a holiday (either from November or December) and write a 500-1,500 word story. The theme must be “friendship”, but it can be any genre appropriate for this blog.
Keep it PG please! PG-13 is okay too.
Challenge for graphic designers, by Prisca
It’s high-stress, huge-workload time for all of us in education–and it will only get worse as the semester comes to a close. With that in mind, design an image that reflects this hectic time for any student and/or educator at any level. What I want you to convey is the feeling of stress due to the school workload. However, the image must also include a message, (either visual or written), of hope for a stress-free tomorrow (or at least a not so hectic weekend!).
Keep it PG please! PG-13 is okay too.
Have fun!
